I've found that milestones are so very important to keep motivated. Not only the typical 200, 250, etc milestones, but many smaller ones too. Moving up clothing sizes, breaking furniture, you name it.
I just recently passed one of my most anticipated milestones: doubling my starting weight of 140. It's absolutely crazy to think that I ever weighed so little, and it reaffirms my drive to keep pushing on.
So, to celebrate, I went a bit crazy with some photos. I found a few articles of clothing that I hadn't seen in years, so I tried them on and snapped some photos--and a video of another milestone!
Check them out on my updated Tumblr. I'll be posting progress pictures and sighting there now, as my poor Flickr account is almost full.

An Old Nemesis (Again)
Last week I didn't write up a post, but I hit 238 again. I was getting all worked up about the thought of returning to my old nemesis weight--240. When I first hit 240, it was after months of work and it was very satisfying at the time, but soon it became clear that 240 was going to be a long plateau. A few times I managed to crawl up near 250, but the weight was quickly lost if I made any mistakes.
This time, I knew for sure, would be different. I'd made such solid progress so far, I knew I could break through that wall for good this time. I was psyching myself up, and I had a plan that I was going to write up for this journal, but I was worried about reaching 240 in time that I checked early. On Wednesday morning, after much deliberation, I hopped on the scale. To my shock, the scale read 241! I checked it again several times, just to be sure. It wasn't broken and I was as empty as I could possibly be, so there was no mistaking. I even checked yesterday and this morning, only to find that I had gained another pound on top of it!
I suppose it shouldn't be such a shock, given how much I've been eating. The size of my meals are getting so much bigger than what I considered 'a lot' before. This size is somewhat familiar, too, although maybe a bit shifted about. My old big legs are back, along with my butt. My love handles are much more noticeable this time around, though, and I like to think that perhaps my chest is too. I took a bunch of pictures and a video to try and get a glimpse of just what's different this time. (View them here)
I think I might feel mixed feelings because it wasn't the challenge I was expecting, but I have no reason to be upset. I'm officially eight pounds away from my highest ever weight. I'm absolutely dying to reach new territory. The feeling I got way back in 2007 and 2008 of reaching new weights--I can't wait to feel that again.
Week Two
I'm deep enough into my gaining now that I've settled into a routine. Having a 9-to-5 job (and the money that comes with it) really helps, not only because I'm sitting on my rump all day. After squeezing into my pants, I have a quick breakfast, and make sure to pack all kinds of snacks in my bag before I leave. After snacking all day and a big lunch, by the end of each day I leave feeling bigger than when I arrived.Filling myself up each day feels so good, and it keeps me motivated like crazy. On my walks home to and from the subway, I can feel my gut pressing against my shirt and bouncing with each step. It's one of the greatest feeling ever, I think. By the time I get home, I'm so enamored with it that I'm ready for another meal!
I'm not sure if it's this routine or if it's my own growing desire for size, but it feels easier to stay on track this time around. I've been recording all of my calories and I haven't missed a goal yet. As a result, I'm falling in love with my body again. I'm doing my best not to get too prideful, because I still have a long way to go, but I think I have quite a lot to be proud of so far.
On a related note, some people were asking for progress pictures, so I took a handful the other night, and even a video because I felt the pictures weren't doing justice. They can be found on my Flickr page here.
Inflatable Git
Sorry about the delay. Unfortunately, I'm still feeling pretty crummy, but luckily earlier in the week I got a chance to do what I intended to do for Sunday's post. One of my readers was awesome enough to send me an air pump for me as sort of an early birthday present. I had always wanted to try out inflation, so I was eager to get to it.
I had dabbled with water inflation when I was younger, so I had a good idea of what to do and how to be safe with it. I'd been watching a lot of inflaters on YouTube lately and it was just almost fate that I got to try it for my birthday! I took some very nsfw pictures while I was doing it that you can view if you so choose here. (warning- pantless/naked and some butt shots)
It might not be something you guys care to see, but it's a good way to add some new video material in between my gaining dry spells, and hopefully it will increase my appetite. Plus, I enjoy it like crazy, so hopefully I'll stick with it if only for my sake. If any of you guys do inflate yourselves, any tips you can share would be great.
Here's a short video clip I took. I'm not sure if you can tell a difference at all but you can tell how much I was loving it. I also apologize for how horribly unshaven I am; I blame the illness.
ps. thanks for the birthday wishes!
250lbs Video
Sorry about the delay. The past few days my appetite just wasn't there. I'd have a huge craving (usually for Taco Bell, lately) but then I wouldn't be able to finish whatever I was eating. It's comin' back though.
Anyway, not much to say for this post. I made this video at 5am, so I was sort of at loss as to what to do, but I think I look noticeably bigger. Apologies for the farmer's tan.

1000 YouTube Watchers
Man, the other day I noticed that I had nine-hundred-something watchers on YouTube. I had no idea! Knowing full well that soon it would pass into four digits, I wanted to do something special. Things have been so hectic around here that I forgot until tonight when a friend of mine gave me that 1000th one.
I had just finished a big pizza dinner, so I figured why not upload a video? It breaks my youtube-as-a-video-timeline shtick, but its been far too long since I've done one. I've forgotten how motivating it can be; not only the comments I get, but seeing my belly from a different angle. Watching my navel in this video is actually kind of mesmerizing.
Here's the vid, folks! I've been going all out lately when it comes to eating. I'll explain more in my next post. Cheers.

Photo and Video updates
After a nice pizza and beer dinner, I decided now was a good time to take some pictures and make a video. Enjoy!
My old work shirt from three years ago.
My old workout shirt. Its hard to breathe in these things.
230!
So, yesterday or so I officially hit 230lbs! That marks a total of 50 pounds gained since I started gaining weight back in June/July! My belly doesn't look too much bigger since last time, but my butt and thighs definately feel much fatter. The stretchmarks on my lovehandles also tell me that I've grown there, too.
So! Here's another video for you guys. Look for another one in hopefully about a month, where 240 marks a total of 100 lbs gained in muscle and fat since I started college!

Two Twenty
I've definately hit 220lbs now~ After a generous free meal from my visiting parents, I was tipping the scale closer to 230. But, on an empty stomach I sit comfortably over 220lbs, so its time for a small update! I would bring pictures but I'm gonna save that for a bit later. I'm also almost done with my illustrations for my boyfriend's story (I'm on a roll, it's glorious).
But! I did not come empty handed. I did make a video while I was still full. Enjoy~

I brought a video~
Oh, I feel bad. I've been in a slump in many senses of the word. I lack all sorts of motivation to draw anything (though that may soon change) and worse for this blog, I've hit some sort of plateau with my weight!
I've been hovering around 210lbs for the past week or two now. I'm not worried too much, I've been eating more than usual, and I know that one of these days I'll be back on my way up. In the meanwhile though, not much has been going on. I do LOOK bigger, which is strange. My weightlifting might not be helping my weight, but it's helping other numbers. I've added a half-inch to my arms in the past month, which I'm very proud of. (By the by, you can keep track of all my measurements and stuff on my bodyspace page.
But, I don't want to just leave this as another boring "hey, I'm still alive" post, so I brought things to show off. I took some pictures of what I think is a little bigger belly, and I also got up the nerve to post a little video on YouTube. I figured there's not much to look at now, but to show off how tight my clothes are getting and to create a neat timeline, this would be a good idea.
